Getting started

You need a Linux server with systemd, an x86-64 or ARM64 processor, and sudo or root access. The installer uses curl and downloads the agent from GitHub. The server must be able to reach GitHub and vpsmon.cloud over HTTPS.

Create your account

Open the dashboard, choose Create account, and register with your email address and a password. Follow the verification link in your email, then sign in. The verified signup address becomes your default alert recipient.

If the verification message does not arrive, check your spam folder. Resend verification sends another link, subject to a cooldown and daily email limits. If signup is unavailable, contact support@vpsmon.cloud.

Connect a server

  1. Click Add server in the dashboard.
  2. Copy the install command and run it in a terminal on the server you want to monitor.
  3. When the installer asks for a setup token, paste the token from the Add a server window.
  4. Keep the window open to see when your server pairs and its first metrics arrive. Once connected, close the window and open the server’s details.

The production install command is:

curl --proto '=https' --proto-redir '=https' -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/vpsmon/vpsagent/main/scripts/install.sh | sudo bash -s -- --cloud-url 'https://vpsmon.cloud'

The token pairs that server with your workspace and works once. Paste it at the installer prompt; do not append it to the command or share it. If it expires or has already been used, close the window and click Add server for a new token.

The installer creates a systemd service that starts at boot. It installs the agent and update/removal helpers under /opt/vpsagent. It does not enable updates from Cloud unless you opt in.

If the installer reports an existing installation, use the update helper instead of reinstalling:

sudo /opt/vpsagent/update.sh

Check the connection

The dashboard should show recent CPU, memory, and disk values. Open the server to see its resource chart and writable disks. More history appears as samples arrive.

If it stays disconnected, check the service on that server:

sudo systemctl status vpsagent --no-pager
sudo journalctl -u vpsagent -n 50 --no-pager

The troubleshooting guide covers connection and collection errors. Once samples arrive, open Alert settings to choose your thresholds and notification channels.

Complimentary access

If the operator grants you a complimentary Base plan, the Account modal shows its expiry date or “no expiry.” It includes up to five servers and requires no card or payment. When it ends, your normal trial or subscription state applies; your servers and existing history are kept within normal retention limits.

Account settings

Click your email in the dashboard header to open Account. Overview shows your membership and billing actions. Security lets you change your password or sign out on every device. Sign out in the footer ends your current session. Account deletion is under Overview and requires your password and a confirmation.
